Life coaching and interpersonal relationships One of the most significant predictors of life satisfaction and, indeed, good health, is the quality of our interpersonal relationships. That said, the divorce rate is high and factors like work and other job-related pressures cut into our social time and cause us to be away from home and move about a great deal. These factors adversely affect our chances of building and sustaining high quality relationships and add to our stress and general unhappiness. Life coaching can help people think about what they really want from their life and help them see the contradictory way they are living. Very often, people can only recognise what’s missing, or what feels wrong about their lives. What they need to understand is how the choices they make often work against them achieving what they say is important to them. In other words, people can very often be sabotaging their chances of achieving what’s important to them by refusing to act differently or make different choices. Low self-esteem very often contributes to people’s inability to make and keep meaningful relationships. It can cause people to repeat unhelpful, unhealthy patterns as they don’t see a way to connect with other people feeling strong, confident and attractive. Empathetic life coaching can help people examine their insecurities and see themselves in a new, healthier, more productive light.
