While the coaching sessions of course focus on relevant work-related issues, I do also spend time really getting to know my clients – their personalities, their experiences and their values. From my background and training as an organisational psychologist, I know that the stronger the rapport between client and coach, the more productively they work together and really getting to know someone is key to that process.
